Prostor_3D

Inspired by Prostor (1969) by Edward Zajec, one of the pioneers of early computer art. Zajec’s Prostor series implement a balanced interplay between deterministic and random parts, avoiding the tile-effect common in rectangular grid compositions. Looking at the vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines, an almost three-dimensional shape appears — some rectangles seeming to move away, others to come forward.

Prostor_3D re-enacts the rules Zajec followed to make his computer-generated drawing. At first sight the shape appears two-dimensional; when it begins to rotate, the third dimension becomes visible.
